Pomurje, fascinating countryside set on the banks of the River Mura, is a region with a wealth of hills and fields, storks and klopotec – the typical scarecrows -, water mills, healthy waters and energy-giving points, undulating hills where vineyards are growing, authenticity, traditions and a genuine dialect and, above all, with a wealth of hospitable people – who live in this, the largest rural area in Slovenia.
The charming backdrop of Pomurje is an invitation to follow its »gorice«, or rather its hills, and venture along its waterways and in the fields, running on its pastures and in the woodland, or just to enjoy its magnificent views cycling on the hillside. The rural farmhouse facilities and the numerous local events, offer visitors the opportunity of getting to know this north-west region of Slovenia's traditions; in its osterias, to taste its excellent wines and the region's culinary specialities. For modern day nomads, Pomurje even offers a well-equipped golf course and numerous thermal spas.
